Description
Keylife CBD Exfoliating Face Peel can be used to remove dead skin cells, minimize inflammation and redness, and promote overall skin health thanks to a combination of CBD and other assorted biodynamic ingredients.
We use only our own strains of organically farmed cannabis plants to produce our CBD and because we only use a broad-spectrum version of the cannabinoid, our product contains 0% THC. We use non-GMO plants, which are thoroughly vetted to ensure they remain free from all pesticides and heavy metals. We also hire third-party labs to test our products, proving all label claims and ingredients.
We use a supercritical CO2 extraction process to initially pull the CBD and other plant compounds from our harvested cannabis. Super-critical CO2 simply means that the CO2 is both extremely cold and high in pressure (approximately -69º F and 75 pounds PSI)5, allowing it to exist as both a gas and liquid simultaneously, which helps it pass through the plant material more easily and with greater impact on the contents. The CO2 acts as a solvent on the plant matter, helping it to breakdown, before being removed altogether.6 Upon completion of the super-critical extraction our extract is sent along for an additional process referred to as short-path distillation, during which all unwanted compounds and all traces of THC are removed. The resulting product is a broad-spectrum CBD extract, ready to be mixed with the other biodynamic elements before being bottled.
While there are a variety of ingredients in our cream that offer potential benefits to your skin, it is the dominant CBD that offers you the most advantages. The increased public adoption and, in turn, scientific study of CBD has uncovered a number of ways that it may help improve your life or aid in alleviating ailments. Health.harvard.edu has previously stated that it may be useful “for a wide variety of health uses. The information below lists some of the most likely ways in which CBD may benefit your skin and health in general.
– CBD can influence cell production levels and overall role assignments, ensuring your body only manufactures cells where they are needed. Excessive skin cell accumulation can exacerbate conditions like plaque psoriasis, but CBD can promote a state of homeostasis that can prevent or reduce these overproduction issues from occurring.
– CBD can help to regulate sebum levels or the amount of oil that your skin produces. Too little sebum and your skin can dry out and peel, too much sebum and your pores can clog, resulting in skin breakouts or acne.7
– A 2019 study from Modena, Italy found that the application of CBD for scarring and skin inflammatory conditions made a significant difference. “The topical administration of CBD ointment, without any THC, is a safe and effective non-invasive alternative for improving the quality of life in patients with some skin disorders, especially on an inflammatory background.” In addition, they stated that “topical treatment with CBD-enriched ointment significantly improved the skin parameters, the symptoms, and the PASI index score. No irritant or allergic reactions were documented during the period of treatment.”8
– Skin products are increasingly featuring CBD due to its overall ability to impact so many facets of dermal health. Ildi Pekar, an NYC aesthetician was quoted in a December 2019 interview with Forbes magazine as saying “cannabidiol offers some serious antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which can be beneficial in treating skin concerns like inflammation, dryness and free radical damage.”9 Free radicals are considered rogue agents within our bodies, as oxygen breaks apart inside of us it converts into atoms with unpaired electrons but “electrons like to be in pairs, so these atoms, called free radicals, scavenge the body to seek out other electrons so they can become a pair. This causes damage to cells, proteins, and DNA.” An overaccumulation of free radicals can potentially lead to more significant issues over a long-term basis such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.10
– CBD can also act as an analgesic, inhibiting nociceptive responses of an inflammatory or neuropathic nature, minimizing pain and discomfort. In the case of our exfoliating cream, the analgesic effects will be minimal at best though; if you’re seeking a pain relief product, we suggest looking at our Keylife CBD Pain Cream or Pain Salve as an alternative and more effective pain-relief option.6
In addition to our broad-spectrum CBD, our Keylife CBD Exfoliating Face Peel features a number of other biodynamic ingredients. Biodynamics involves an all-encompassing farming process that produces organic ingredients, rich in nutrients and with minimal impact on the land they are grown on. Some of these ingredients and their benefits include:
Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice – Acts as a natural first-aid treatment for skin distress. The soothing gel-like fluid produced naturally by the Aloe Barbadensis, or Aloe Vera plant as it is more commonly referred, can help to calm, and repair skin damaged by excessive exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet rays, heat burns, side effects caused by radiation therapy, and even bacterial infections.1
Butylene Glycol – Most commonly used in a wide array of health and beauty products due to its ability to moisturize skin. Dermal moisture levels can impact the rate of sebum production, if your skin is too dry it will compensate by ramping up the amount of sebum secreted, often overcompensating, and leading to acne outbreaks and clogged pores.2
Phospholipids – Fat molecules can allow other compounds to pass more easily through dermal cells and subsequently into our bodies. By increasing the absorption levels of the other ingredients in our cream it also improves the efficacy with which they can act on your system. Phospholipids can also improve overall skin cell membrane health, potentially prolonging their individual life cycle and allowing for easier permeation of nutritional compounds through the cellular walls.3
Bromelain – A group of enzymes produced in pineapples, bromelain is used to remove dead skin cells and aid as an exfoliating agent. Studies have found that bromelain-based products can help eliminate or minimize cells damaged by burns and may even be more effective at doing so than other traditional treatment options.4
Vitis Vinifera Extract – Both the skin and seeds from Vitis Vinifera or grapes, are considered strong antioxidant agents, minimizing the number of free radicals produced. Studies have found that creams containing grape may reduce the signs of photoaged skin, caused by overexposure to sunlight and ultraviolet rays.11
Green Tea Extract – Green tea offers a number of benefits to your skin, it can reduce inflammation, act as an antibacterial agent12, aid in DNA repair and reduce the chance of skin melanoma cancers13.
In addition to the aforementioned biodynamic ingredients, our Keylife CBD Exfoliating Face Peel also contains papaya, lemon, sage, and cucumber which can reduce swelling and inflammation, improve vascular flow, moisturize and detoxify.
Keylife CBD Exfoliating Face Peel is a boutique-quality beauty product, that combines the healing potential of broad-spectrum CBD with other biodynamic ingredients for an effective skin treatment solution. Our Keylife CBD Exfoliating Face Peel blends our own broad-spectrum CBD with a wide assortment of natural and biodynamic ingredients for a multi-faceted approach to improving your overall skin health and radiance. Here is a brief breakdown of some of the ingredients and their intended purpose:
Broad Spectrum CBD – Extracted from non-GMO cannabis plants that have been raised and harvested in the U.S. We ensure our plants are kept free of pesticides and heavy metals before using super-critical CO2 and short-path distillation techniques to extract our broad-spectrum CBD, providing you with the maximum number of cannabinoids and plant matter, with all traces of THC removed.
Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice – The Aloe Vera plant has been coveted for centuries thanks to its natural calming and soothing properties. Aloe has been shown to either protect or treat skin damaged by ultraviolet sunlight, burns, radiation therapy, and bacteria.1
Butylene Glycol – Commonly added to an assortment of beauty products, Butylene Glycol is used to add moisture back into skin cells and, in other products, your hair too. This means it may help reduce dry skin that can lead to an overproduction of sebum, which eventually causes skin breakouts such as acne.2
Phospholipids – These fat molecules bind to other ingredients to help them absorb more readily into your skin, this also means they may improve the efficacy of said ingredients by increasing the volume you intake. Additionally, phospholipids play an essential role in helping to develop healthy skin cell membranes, improving the flow of nutrition through the membrane walls.3
Bromelain – Naturally found in pineapples, initial scientific studies have indicated that products containing bromelain may reduce dead or damaged skin cells caused by burns, actually working more effectively than some traditionally prescribed treatment options.4
Assorted fruit and plant extracts – Grape, papaya, lemon, pineapple, green tea, sage, and cucumber all offer additional benefits to your skin, whether it be through a reduction in inflammation and swelling, increasing venous flow, minimizing issues caused by conditions such as rosacea or simply acting as a moisturizer or to promote cell detoxification.

Antioxidant Potential
Levels of oxidation and the build-up of free radicals can be reduced with CBD. This can help minimize the likelihood of conditions down the road such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease in addition to cancer. |

|
Antibacterial Agent
Strong antibacterial properties allow CBD to assist in eliminating bacteria and germs that can build-up on the surface of the skin, causing irritation and leading to acne. |

|
Minimizing of Scarring
Inflammation and scarring can be reduced by using a skin cream containing CBD. It’s also less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions when compared with other topical treatments containing drugs. |

|
Damage Prevention
Years of exposure to the outside elements and ultraviolet rays can cause premature cell damage and signs of aging. CBD can penetrate deep into skin helping to protect it from the sun and assisting your skin in remaining youthful looking for longer. |

|
Sebum Management
CBD can regulate the amount of oil, or sebum, the skin produces, impacting the level of moisture in skin. If the body produces too much sebum acne, outbreaks can occur; too little sebum and the skin can become dry and flaky. |

|
Moisturizer
CBD can help keep skin smooth and supple and may aid in the relief of dermatitis and itchiness caused by overly dry skin. |

|
Skin Cell Production
CBD can affect the number and types of skin cells our bodies produce. Preventing overproduction of unwanted cells that can exacerbate skin conditions like psoriasis. |

We recommend you use our Keylife CBD Exfoliating Face Peel once to twice a week for normal or oily skin and once a week for dry skin.
1) Apply smoothly to damp skin, avoiding eyes, mouth, and other sensitive areas.
2) Massage into skin a gentle, circular motion. The product may “ball up” as you rub it across your face, this is a perfectly normal part of its exfoliating nature.
3) Rinse off the cream and dry face. Moisturize as needed.
