Description
Keylife’s CBD & CBC 1:1 Tincture is the perfect pairing of broad-spectrum CBD and CBC, blended with cold-pressed hemp seed oil. Similar in make-up to a “Full Spectrum” tincture, “Broad Spectrum” tinctures are comprised of cannabinoids, but unlike a Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum tinctures contain no THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid found in higher levels in marijuana. Due its strong nociceptive-inhibiting effects, CBC-based products are predominantly used by people seeking potential relief from sensations of pain. Studies have shown that CBC can influence proteins involved in nociceptive responses, acting as an analgesic to soothe your discomfort.
Keylife’s Broad Spectrum CBD Oil is manufactured using all-organic, non-GMO hemp, grown, formulated, and bottled entirely within the U.S. We utilize third-party lab testing to guarantee all of our plants will yield sufficient potency and that they are free of heavy metals and pesticides.
Upon the farming of the plants, the extraction process begins. Extraction is completed by sending super-critical CO2 through the harvested and trimmed plant matter to extract the cannabinoids from the terpenes, lipid molecules, and other plant compounds. Super-critical CO2 simply means that the CO2 is both extremely cold and high in pressure (approximately -69º F and 75 pounds PSI)6, allowing it to exist as both a gas and liquid simultaneously, which helps it pass through the plant material more easily and with greater impact on the contents. The CO2 acts as a solvent on the plant matter, helping it to breakdown, before being removed altogether, leaving behind a full-spectrum extract.7 In order to become a broad-spectrum product though, the extract must be sent for additional processing to remove any additional unwanted compounds. CO2 extraction is not the cheapest way to remove cannabinoids and the like from plant matter, but we believe it is the best option in regard to safety and yield.
After completing the initial refinement process, the full spectrum hemp extract is next sent for short-path distillation. Short-path distillation ensures that all traces of THC are removed from the plant, resulting in only broad-spectrum CBD and CBC cannabinoids. By removing the THC from our full spectrum extract we’re left with a purely broad-spectrum product. We combine this extract with our cold-pressed hemp seed oil and then ship the tincture to be analyzed at third-party testing facilities. These laboratories ensure that the final tincture contains the stated ingredients and quantities and that no preservatives, artificial flavorings, or other additives have been included. All of the results from our lab tests are published here on the site and are available for public viewing. Once the approval has been given from the lab testing, the tincture is finally shipped to Florida to be bottled and labeled, before making its way to our facility.
Cannabinoids have exploded onto the market in all manner of products and while CBD has dominated public attention and news articles, awareness of other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN, and CBC is on the rise. There are countless ways to take cannabinoids into your system– Salves, sprays, edibles, toiletries, vapables, and pet treats. It can become a bit overwhelming trying to decide how to start, that’s why we recommend a tincture as an introductory option. Tinctures are the most readily available delivery method on the market and one that is easily administered with minimal effort. Applied in a sublingual fashion, tinctures are absorbed into the vascular system through the various capillaries in our tongues. Sublingual applications tend to have a 13% to 19% bioavailability rate (or how much and how fast a drug is absorbed into your system), though can be as high as 35% in some forms. Sublingual dosing provides a higher rate of bioavailability than simple oral dosing, so to ensure maximum efficacy always keep the tincture under your tongue for anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds. If you simply swallow a tincture without sublingual application first, you’ll still reap some benefits of the CBD, but the bioavailability could be reduced to as little as 6%.8
But what benefits can our Keylife CBD & CBC 1:1 Tincture offer you? Let’s take a quick look at some science and a few of the studies that have been conducted on both CBC and CBD. CBC, unlike CBD, is still in the relatively early stages of being researched. While results are limited, initial tests have shown potential applications in the following areas for the two cannabinoids:
-Treatment for depressive symptoms: CBC was found to be effective in assuaging the symptoms of depression to a “significant” degree, with a dosing of just 1/10 the amount that was required to achieve similar results with CBD alone.9
– Antibiotic treatments: The potential antibiotic benefits of CBC have been known as far back as the early ’80s. A study by the University of Mississippi in 1981 determined that CBC helped fight “gram-positive, gram-negative, and acid-fast bacteria” and that “antibacterial activity was strong and antifungal activity was mild to moderate.” CBC thus offers a potential application in treating infections without the side effects of traditionally prescribed antibiotics.10 CBD has shown similar promise in antibacterial lab tests. A study conducted by the Centre for Superbug Solutions at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland in Australia found that when used as a treatment against staphylococcus and streptococcus, CBD worked faster than commonly prescribed antibiotics. The center’s senior research officer, Mark Blaskovich, Ph.D., was quoted as saying, “We looked at how quickly the CBD killed the bacteria, it’s quite fast, within 3 hours, which is pretty good, Vancomycin (Vancocin) kills over 6 to 8 hours.” Blaskovich concluded that “In every case, CBD had a very similar potency to that of common antibiotics.”11
– Pain relief: A 2001 study from the British Journal of Pharmacology found that together CBC and CBD interacted with “proteins involved in nociceptive control,” which resulted in an analgesic effect. The scientists involved concluded that “these compounds might represent useful therapeutic agents with multiple mechanisms of action.”12 With opiate addiction on the rise in the U.S. CBC and CBD may well offer a viable, non-habit-forming alternative analgesic therapy.
-Neuroregenesis: Neurochemistry International published the results of a 2013 study that indicated that CBC can “raise the viability of NSPCs,” or neural stem progenitor cells, “which are an essential component of brain function in health as well as in pathology.”13
-Anti-inflammatory agent: Both CBC and CBD are effective at reducing inflammation. A study headed by Gerald T. Delong from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Medical College of Virginia Campus in 2010 found that CBC reduced inflammation and swelling caused by edema.14 In addition, the European Journal of Pain demonstrated that CBD can potentially inhibit both inflammatory and neuropathic chronic pain, which are traditionally quite challenging to treat.3
In addition to the aforementioned potential benefits provided by CBC, Health.harvard.edu states that CBD has been suggested “for a wide variety of health issues,” including:
– The prevention of seizures from epilepsy: specifically, childhood epilepsy and such debilitating disorders as Dravet Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS)
– Mood regulation: Cannabinoids have been shown in lab tests to reduce anxiety, which is the leading contributing factor in suffering from depression. An interesting note is that CBD has been proven to reduce anxiety across all types of individuals, regardless of whether they suffer from some form of anxiety disorder or not.16
– A sleep aid and possible treatment for insomnia: Early research from the National Center for PTSD and Palo Alto University shows that CBD may have “therapeutic potential for the treatment of insomnia,” and “may hold promise for REM sleep behavior disorder and excessive daytime sleepiness.”5
– Relief from symptoms caused by Multiple sclerosis: CBD is effective in improving pain, muscle tightness, and urination frequency in sufferers of MS,1 allowing for an improved quality of life.
Keylife CBD has gone to great lengths, whether it be in farming techniques, conducting research, investing in technology, or in offering complete transparency in lab testing, to ensure that no corners are cut, no misleading claims are ever made, and that only the highest quality, all-natural CBD products end up in your hands. At Keylife CBD we understand that a premium product must begin with premium ingredients, that’s why we place such a great emphasis on high-quality cannabis and stringent purity control. From the farm to the final product, all growing, processing, and manufacturing is done solely within the United States, so you can rest assured that you’re receiving the best product produced by the best manufacturer out there. All Keylife CBD products are tested by third-party labs, with results available to view by clicking the Lab Purity Testing button in the Product Summary section at the top of the page. Our Keylife CBD & CBC 1:1 Tincture is available in 30mL size bottles at a 1000MG strength. To guarantee maximum purity with no unnecessary additives, our tincture is only available in our unflavored “Natural” option.
Broad Spectrum CBC & CBD – Both the CBD and CBC cannabinoids for our tincture are produced using all-organic, non-GMO cannabis, grown in Oregon. All plants are pre-screened to certify purity and efficacy, in addition to guaranteeing that no pesticides or heavy metals are detected. We also test to confirm that no additives, preservatives, flavoring, or other adulterants make it into the product at any point during the farming, processing, or manufacturing of the tincture.
Cold-Pressed Hempseed Oil – In order to bind with the receptors within the body’s endocannabinoid system, the cannabinoids contained within an extract must be combined with a fat molecule or lipid. Most manufacturers opt to go with MCT or coconut oil, as it is readily available, cheap, and relatively easily absorbed by the body. We realized though, that this was a missed opportunity to provide customers with the most bang for their buck. Rather than using the preferred MCT oil, we realized that by using cold-pressed hemp seed oil instead we could reap the benefit of additional lesser cannabinoids contained within the oil itself. This means that not only will you receive cannabinoids from the extract itself, but that you will also receive some “bonus” cannabinoids contained within the actual cold-pressed hemp seed oil. While it is a costlier alternative to the MCT oil route, we believe it produces a higher quality product with more potential to benefit you. We use hemp seed oil so that you can reap the benefits of its significant levels of fatty acids and nutritional content, which have been shown to assist in skin protection, brain functionality and in improving cardiovascular health conditions such as high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.

Prevention of SeizuresThe most well-known application for CBD is in the prevention and alleviation of seizures in those affected by conditions such as epilepsy. CBD has been shown to effectively reduce the level of severity and number of instances of seizures occurring. |
|
Modulation of MoodCBD influences neural receptors in the brain, assisting in maintaining normal brain chemistry and the regulation of emotions, helping to manage or decrease daily levels of issues such as stress or anxiety.4 |
|
Regulation of Circadian CycleCBD can help maintain homeostasis in our daily balance of productivity and rest, by inducing relaxation and subsequently the onset of sleep. It can also minimize the effects of disturbances that might normally wake you, meaning you’re likely to stay asleep for a longer, more restful night.5 |
|
Relief from Chronic PainCBC can help in blocking or reducing pain, through its interaction with CBD has also shown a propensity for aiding in the relief of chronic and neuropathic pain, with a reduced likelihood of the potential side-effects or possible addictive nature that comes with traditionally prescribed pain medications.1 |
![]() |
Reduction of Gastrointestinal InflammationCBD can minimize the effects of GI issues through both its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, minimizing pain, reducing swelling, and decreasing hypermotility in the gut. CBC performs a similar function, thanks in part to its antibacterial nature, which in turn can result in improvement in the natural gut-flora that keep our digestive system in a state of homeostasis. |
|
Neurogenerative BenefitsCBC can increase the viability of neural stem progenitor cells (NSPC), which can then convert into astroglial cells that play an essential role in helping the brain maintain homeostasis. CBD can assist in the regulation of neuroregenesis after birth by interacting with receptors in the ECS, particularly in the hippocampus and lateral ventricles of the brain. |

Increased Movement and MobilityCBC and CBD are both effective at reducing inflammation within muscles and joints, improving your range of motion and flexibility, and allowing for improved overall mobility. In fact, CBC has actually been shown to be more effective at reducing inflammation than many heavily prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), including Phenylbutazone. CBC and CBD also have a far lower likelihood of side-effects or addictive qualities.2,3 |
|
Antibacterial PotencyStudies have shown that both CBC and CBD are potent antibacterial and antifungal agents. CBC has strong antibacterial tendencies, with notable effects on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including staphylococcus and E. coli. CBD can help in the fight against staphylococcus and streptococcus in addition to helping permeate biofilm, the layer that surrounds the exterior of many bacteria and slows antibiotic absorption. |

Skin HealthCBC can regulate the amount of sebum, or oil, produced by the body’s sebaceous glands, and by doing so help to mitigate the likelihood of occurrences of issues such as acne. CBD can help to define skin cell specification, or the role of a cell within the body, in addition to production levels and cell longevity. |
Tinctures are administered orally, specifically sublingually, meaning they are placed under the tongue. Thanks to the numerous small veins under the tongue, referred to as capillaries, CBD and other cannabinoids can be absorbed quickly and efficiently into the bloodstream. Ensuring you receive the most cannabinoids possible in the shortest amount of time possible.
To administer:
1) Shake tincture gently.
2) Remove the child-safety cap with a built-in pipette.
3) Squeeze the bulb of the pipette to fill one full dropper worth of liquid into the pipette, this should be approximately 20 drops or 1ml of liquid.
4) Drip and hold tincture under the tongue for 15 to 20 seconds before swallowing any remaining liquid.
5) Always wait approximately three hours after the initial dose to see how the level of CBD and other cannabinoids affect you.
6) Administer each dose, one to three times a day as needed.
7) Upon dosing, always store your tinctures in a cool, dark location, out of the reach of children and pets.
