Description
Our Keylife Pain Salve is a combination of high-quality, broad-spectrum CBD with a blend of other all-natural botanicals to produce a wide-ranging pain-relief product that can easily be applied to a variety of areas. Because we use broad-spectrum CBD there is absolutely no THC within our salve.
Each jar is produced in Dallas, Texas, and is available in either a 0.5oz or 2oz jar with approximately 250mg or 1000mg of CBD, respectively. Choose from two enticing aroma options, Cedarwood or Lemongrass, and enjoy the combined potency of CBD, camphor, copaiba oil, shea butter, and a variety of other naturally occurring ingredients for maximum pain relief.
The cannabis we use to produce all of our Keylife products is grown organically and entirely within the U.S. We test to ensure that our plants are free from heavy metals and the application of all pesticides, and we use a supercritical CO2 extraction process to ensure the highest cannabinoid yield and purity from our plants. This extraction method involves us forcing super-critical CO2 through the collected plant matter to isolate the desired CBD cannabinoid from the other compounds found within the plant. Super-critical CO2 simply means that the CO2 is both extremely cold and high in pressure (approximately -69º F and 75 pounds PSI)16, allowing it to exist as both a gas and liquid simultaneously, which helps it pass through the plant material more easily and with greater impact on the contents. The CO2 acts as a solvent on the plant matter, helping it to breakdown, before being removed altogether.17 The resulting full-spectrum hemp extract contains not only the CBD we seek but also additional cannabinoids, terpenes, and even THC. To complete the extraction process, this full-spectrum concentrate is sent along for an additional processing step referred to as short-path distillation, which removes all traces of THC. The final broad-spectrum extract contains our CBD and other beneficial elements of the plants in the form of minor amounts of lesser cannabinoids, but all THC has been removed. This final extract is combined with our other natural ingredients to create our Keylife Pain Salve. But how do those ingredients benefit you and what does the science show? Read below for a breakdown of how CBD and some of the other plant additives could potentially improve your pain management.
CBD has been the focus of numerous medical studies, with Health.harvard.edu stating that it may be useful “for a wide variety of health uses.” Some of the most likely benefits of CBD may include the following:
– A study conducted by the University of Modena to determine the effects of CBD ointments on scars and skin ailments offered promising applications, “the results showed that topical treatment with CBD-enriched ointment significantly improved the skin parameters,” of the subjects involved.11
– The inhibition and reduction of both neuropathic and inflammatory pain in patients suffering from issues such as arthritis.1 A 2018 study found that 62% of people using CBD do so for medical reasons, with “pain” being the number one reason mentioned.18
– CBD has shown strong signs of helping to alleviate muscle tension and reduce joint rigidity. Individuals suffering from conditions such as multiple sclerosis may see discomfort reduced and an improvement in their range of motion.19
– Skin cell role and specification can be regulated through interactions between CBD and our internal endocannabinoid system. This interaction may help ensure that cell production remains in homeostasis, preventing the overproduction of cells that can lead to issues such as psoriasis. CBD also helps to regulate the amount of sebum, the oil in our skin, that is produced. Excessive or insufficient amounts of sebum can lead to skin issues such as acne.20
A 2006 Brazilian study found that copaiba oil was able to “demonstrate [a] peripheral and central antinociceptive effect,”12 meaning that it could increase the tolerance or reduce the sensitivity of harmful stimuli such as pain. A 2018 study found that Copaiba Oil can also significantly increase the absorption rate of skin, which means it may allow the CBD in our salve to pass more rapidly and effectively into your system.13
Arnica has long been used as a homeopathic medication for a variety of issues, but it seems to be most effective as an injury recovery aid. A 2002 English study found that Arnica significantly reduced the pain felt by patients two weeks after outpatient hand surgery versus those who only received placebos.21 A U.S. study found that arnica also significantly aided in the reduction of bruises, working more effectively than vitamin K cream.14
Lavender has shown evidence of aiding in discomfort, an Iranian study from 2016 studied how using lavender massage oil helped patients suffering from osteoarthritis. The results concluded that “Pain severity of the patients in the intervention group was significantly different immediately and 1 week after the intervention compared with their initial status.”22
Shea butter is produced using the nuts from the shea tree and has frequently been added to bath products due to its natural ability to absorb rapidly into the skin, helping to aid in moisturizing and can thus help alleviate associated pain caused by itching or tightness.
Camphor is already approved for use in skin products by the FDA and is an active ingredient in products such as Vick’s VapoRub ointment. Camphor can be used to treat a variety of skin issues such as burns, bug bites, and even cold sores.15
Tocopherol is an organic compound found predominantly in U.S. diets in foodstuffs such as soybean and corn oil and is high in vitamin E content, which studies have shown may help reduce the likelihood of Alzheimer’s disease23, kidney24, bladder25 and lung cancer26 in high quantities.

The intent behind our Keylife Pain Salve was to combine the healing potential of CBD with an assortment of other beneficial and all-natural ingredients to provide you with the maximum amount of pain relief and health benefits possible.
Broad Spectrum CBD Extract – Produced from non-GMO, organically raised cannabis plants, free from all pesticides and heavy metals. We use only broad-spectrum CBD, ensuring our salve contains zero amounts of THC. In addition, all of our CBD products are third-party lab-tested to ensure you always receive the number of cannabinoids claimed on our packaging. Skin ointments containing CBD have shown impressive results in aiding conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, and even scarring.11
Copaiba Oil – A mixture of essential oils and resin extracted from the trunk of trees from the genus Copaifera, which are predominantly native to regions of South America. Copaiba oil can act as an analgesic by having an antinociceptive effect.12 In addition, copaiba can significantly improve skin permeability, increasing the effectiveness with which other beauty products and dermal-based drug applications may be absorbed into our systems.13
Arnica Oil – A perennial plant considered a member of the sunflower family; Arnica has shown an ability to reduce bruising at a faster rate than some vitamin K products.14 Studies have also shown that Arnica may help to reduce pain after surgery or injury.
Camphor – A white, waxy terpenoid produced in the wood of trees from the laurel family found in Asia. Camphor can also be found in some types of rosemary and basil plants and is commonly used in a variety of products, including Vicks VapoRub. The FDA has approved camphor in products designed for dermal application in the treatment of pain, bug bites, burns, and cold sores, among others.15
Lavender Oil – Lavender is a member of the mint family of plants and has long been cherished for its relaxing aroma.

Skin cell health
CBD can affect skin cells in a variety of ways, including the role a cell plays, how frequently it is produced, and the overall life cycle of the cell. CBD can help regulate production to prevent the build-up of unwanted skin cells that can cause the effects seen in psoriasis or in the overproduction of sebum, the oil in our skin that can lead to acne due to either insufficient or excessive production rates.3,4 |

|
Aid in mood regulation
CBD can act in a similar fashion to our own endocannabinoids and influence mood regulation. Tests have shown that CBD can influence dopamine levels and help to reduce stress and anxiety levels across all types of individuals.5 |

|
Deeper, more restful sleep
CBD can induce deeper, more restful sleep by helping to regulate our internal sleep clocks, generally referred to as our circadian rhythm. CBD can lead to a more restful state and minimize the distractions that may usually prematurely wake you.6 |

|
Improvement in joint motion
CBD can reduce both inflammation and swelling due to edema, or fluid buildup, in the muscles and joints, expediting recovery and potentially relieving associated discomfort in sufferers of such issues like multiple sclerosis (MS).2 |

|
Pain Relief
CBD’s ability to reduce pain has been frequently noted in scientific studies with none of the side effects or symptoms commonly associated with traditional analgesic medications.1 |
|
Other benefits
In addition to the aforementioned benefits, CBD may also help aid your gastrointestinal health, promote neuroregenesis and assist in fighting bacterial infections.7,8,9 If you are specifically trying to focus on these types of issues though, a tincture may be a more beneficial method of delivery due to the improved bioavailability of sublingual application.10 |
Keylife Pain Salve can be applied as needed, directly to the areas impacted by pain. Our cream is designed for external injuries only and should not be used internally.
